Porn star lured women into making adult films by promising Bollywood careers

A porn star allegedly helped lure young women to make adult films with the promise of a Bollywood career.

Nandita Dutta, 30, was charged by police in Kolkata, India, after two young models complained to cops in the New Town district of the city this week.

One alleges she was forced into a nude shoot at a studio in the affluent Ballygunge neighbourhood, to the south of the city, while her friend claims she was made to shoot in an adult video at a New Town hotel by the same group.

Dutta, 30 and known as "Nancy Bhabhi" in her soft-porn career, was arrested at her home in Dum Dum, according to the Times of India.

Her associate Mainak Ghosh, 39, was picked up from his residence in Naktala after the complaint was made on July 26.

It is alleged two models were offered a break in the massive Bollywood film industry as part of the coercion to get them to comply.

Dhutta and Ghosh appeared before a Barasat court this week and were sent to police custody for a week.

A spokesman for the Bidhannagar Commissionerate said: "We are going to interrogate them for their accomplices and also to know other places where they conducted the shoots.

"We will also question them whether they used to sell videos and if they were a part of a larger porn racket."

Police are also looking into the similarities with a current case in India involving Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra, who is accused of making and distributing pornography, which is illegal in India.

He was jailed for 14 days while investigations continue after a woman complained she was coerced into performing in an adult movie.

In India, groups are known to entrap women from lower-middle-class families struggling for work with quick money or by threatening them with dire consequences - and making false promises of providing a "break" in Bollywood.

Dutta and Ghosh have been charged with assault or using criminal force with the intention of disrobing or compelling her to be naked, voyeurism, defamation, molestation, buying or disposing of any person as a slave, cheating and forgery.
