A TikTok star had her clothes ripped off in a savage attack by around 400 men in Pakistan with footage caught on video.

The shocking images of the woman being dragged, groped and beaten by a mob in a Lahore park have caused outrage on social media.

It happened on August 14 when crowds gathered at Minar-e-Pakistan to celebrate their Independence Day, when British colonial rule ended.

The TikToker reported the case to police saying that she had gone to the monument with six friends to shoot a video for her social media feed on Independence Day, local media reports.

The attack then can be seen in the video where she is picked up and taken into the middle of the crowd.

“The crowd was huge and people were scaling the enclosure and coming towards us,” she wrote in her complaint, reported by Pakistani media.

She said she tried to escape the mob but was unable.

“People were pushing and pulling me to the extent that they tore my clothes. Several people tried to help me but the crowd was too huge and they kept throwing me in the air,” she said, adding that her companions were also assaulted.

The woman also said that she was robbed with jewellery taken and her friend had their phone and identity card taken.

Police are now investigating the incident of assault and theft on the woman and her six friends.

Lahore DIG Operations Sajid Kiyani reportedly ordered the superintendent of police to take "immediate legal action".

He said: "The suspects should be traced with the help of the footage," and those who "violated women's honour and harassed them will be brought within the ambit of the law."

The footage has highlighted violence against women in Pakistan with celebrities and politicians speaking out.

“The assault of a young women by a mob at #minarepakistan should shame every Pakistani. It speaks to a rot in our society," wrote Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, an assembly member and chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

"Those responsible must be brought to justice. The women of Pakistan feel insecure and it is all our responsibility to ensure safety and equal rights to all."
